I purchased the helical cutterhead as an upgrade to my relatively new DW733 thicknesser.
The install went relatively smoothly but some up to date instructions would have been useful mainly as an aid to the sequence of the steps required to carry out the swap.
I have since machined several widths and types of wood material and found the surface finish to be very similar to that when using new standard straight blades. As my machine was almost new I cannot say how the results would compare with more worn standard blades, but I am expecting that the helical blades will maintain a good finish for much longer than the straight ones.
Another obvious advantage is the ability to rotate the individual cutters when they become worn or chipped.
Overall I think a really good investment.
Having made this upgrade I'm now looking for a suitable retrofit soft start for the brushed motor. It starts up with a real bang! Any assistance would be gratefully received

These router bits are well made. It made clean cut profiles on the 10mm sticks I milled.

Solid construction, cuts clean. Now I can make my own tenons according to the length I need.

I just finished installing my helical DeWalt DW735 cutter head. The install isn't very difficult provided you have the correct tools. I just ran a few board of hard maple through the planner and the finish is so smooth, you wouldn't have to even sand the board. The best part of buying the replacement head from FindBuyTool is they have the lowest price and best service. Don't postpone the upgrade from the factory installed steel knives, the finished the new helical head will produce along with the sound reduction is so worth it.

I wasn't going to spend the extra money to get the torque wrench because I thought I could tell how much to tighten the screws on my new helical cutter head. Boy was I wrong, I first tightened them to what was required , but after then using the torque wrench, I had underestimated the proper torque by a lot. For what you are spending on the new cutter head, spend a few more dollars and get the proper torque wrench.

Yhe install was very easy and was a perfect fit. Cut quality was very good and ran a lot quieter than the original knives.

The install was compared to the straightforward to do not a big deal first time at all as always is slow tested and it runs around 100 board feet through the thing it really works well it does what it said it was going to do no problems I think the noise level is certainly changed cut quality is excellent appreciate a good tool and this one seems to fill the bill

Installation of the Helical Cutterhead into my DeWalt DW735 was not complicated but there were many steps. This was the reason I delayed so long in buying the Helical Cutterhead. But, I watched about 10 different videos on YouTube and convinced myself I could do it. I completed the installation in under 2 hours. It went well and I was amazed at my first cut. Smooth as butter. My wife thought I had sanded the piece. Since, the unit has performed great. I never had many complaints about the performance of the strait blade Cutterhead but I didn’t know how much better it could be. It is also quieter but I don’t possess the equipment to measure the reduction. Thanks FindBuyTool for offering this Cutterhead at a very reasonable price and short shipping time too.

Great domino 700 cutters

The item arrived well-packaged and the instructions were pretty straight forward and sensible. One useful 'hack' gleaned from U-tube videos is to install a sacrificial bolt after the helical driver has been removed, so that you can more easily dislodge the core spindle. If you take your time and carefully label your parts then this is quite an enjoyable swap out.

Best upgrade got my Makita 2012NB

I purchased a helical cutter head from FindBuyTool. It was quickly shipped which was very impressive being located in Hong Kong. Unfortunately the cutterhead did not fit my planer parts. I contacted FindBuyTool’s customer service, explained the problem and sent them some photos. They very shortly sent me a full replacement cutterhead which was perfect. I am very impressed with FindBuyTools, not only for their outstanding customer service and fast shipping but also the high quality of their products. I’m sure I will be doing business with them again.

Installation was smooth, and I feel like I have a new, high-end planer. The wood surface is perfect, and the machine operates more quietly and with more power.

I used to dreed using my jointer with the slappy slap slap of the 3 blades no matter how well they were adjusted. Now I look forward to it, so smooth, quiet and supper smooth finish.
I swapped out my DeWalt 735, man alive equally fantastic. Not to mention a great price and they come with the bearings at no extra cost plus they are shipped with the blades in their little boxes not on the dang things so you have to remove them first to install. I can go on.
Just do it you will not be disappointed, oh ya VETS get 10 bucks off .....

The product is exactly as advertised and the instructions are perfectly adequate to manage the install. The YouTube video is also worth watching as a couple of the steps seem very violent and naturally one wonders exactly how hard to hit, so the video makes the step more clear. Definitely runs more quiet, but have not seen a difference in the power draw, which was a benefit some have mentioned from the conversion. Surface finish is excellent on both dimensioning and finish setting.

Great performance, easy to install and the planner is more quiet when it's operate
