Our midi wood lathe offers two continuously variable speed control ranges (low speed: 300-1200 RPM, high speed: 750-3500 RPM), allowing for seamless adjustment to the desired speed in just 1s using the dial. This variable speed control system allows you to work with various hardwoods and softwoods, handing a wide range of tasks from material removal at high speeds to delicate carving at lower speeds.

This is a great unit for beginners. It is well-made and plenty sturdy.
A lot of projects can be turned on this lathe.
I have probably turned 5 items on this lathe with absolutely no problems so far. I feel like it will provide a long service life if it is not having to turn extremely large work.

I have had the lathe for about one week, have made several bowls. It arrived in perfect condition. Although heavy, required little effort to set up. It is remarkably quite and stable. The variable speed works very well. I turned an irregularly shaped and unbalanced piece of wood at 200-300 rpm and it worked great. I have no regrets or disappointment with this purchase.

So far, I've made a couple of file handles and started a bowl. Findbuytool made a great quality lathe.
This thing is surprisingly quite. Variable speed on the fly is very convenient. The stock spur, plate and live end work great, lined up perfect. Very strong tool guide, and came with two sizes, but could use a larger one. Also a smoother edge on the tool guide would of been great too.
My experience with this machine so far has been simple and smooth. Very happy with this buy and very excited to continue turning.
Pros:
- solidly built, hefty cast iron
- spur and live center line up dead on
- easy to move drive belt to change rotational speed ranges
- it is SO QUIET when in operation
- tail stock and tool rest base move easily, lock in place easily, and stay put, no slipping
- EXCELLENT user's manual; I know most of us don't like reading the manual, but this one is packed full of good information, and even has a few bits of subtle dry wit
Cons:
- too heavy for me to move alone, which is also a pro, but if nobody else is home, I can't shift this
