This is a major upgrade to my Dewalt 735. No more concerns about nicks or dull blades. The two speeds on the 735 become irrelevant, as all cuts are smooth. Get a good snap ring plier set, and allow a few hours for the install. I did have 3 cutters fracture, but there are 4 extras in the kit, so not a problem. Highly recommended.

Helical cutterhead for Ridgid jointer.
This is a long write up, the short version is the vendor and the product are both great.
After much pondering I decided to order a cutterhead directly from China.
The order was placed April 12 and the cutterhead arrived April 18.
The box arrived in pristine condition and the contents inside were well padded.
FindBuy Tool sent tracking updates and once FedEx took over I looked there too.
The head is oily, but it wipes off easily without using anything other than shop towels.
The machining looks very good, all surfaces are smooth and well finished.
The bearings are pre-installed but the cutters are not.
I ordered 10 additional cutters that were shipped separately and arrived two weeks later.
The box contains:
30 cutters (more on this later).
33 screws
cutterhead
2 wrenches/drivers
Cutterhead dimensions:
9.375” total length
5.979” head length
2.406” max head diameter (no cutters installed)
1.385” / 1.578” bearing diameters
.624” pulley shaft diameter (fits pulley perfectly)
Installation was uneventful, I previously watched several videos on YouTube and knew what to expect.
After installing the cutterhead, it and the jointer tables are 0.002 out of square and I didn’t try to improve it.
I installed the cutters using the wrenches that are included.
The cutterhead is designed to align the cutters as they are tightened and I made no effort to help that.
I tightened them tight by hand but I did not use the GI Joe Kung Fu grip on them.
The description on FindBuy Tool says, “Producing a much better surface finish that reduces additional sanding thanks to the 30 tungsten carbide inserts.”
While 30 cutters are in the box, this is a 28 cutter cutterhead.
My bad for reading that and thinking it is a 30 cutter cutterhead.
The picture is accurate, all 4 rows have 7 cutters.
The cut width is barely under 6.1”.
The cut quality is excellent.
It really does cut quieter than the straight knife cutterhead.
Pushing wood through it feels smoother but takes the same effort.
Grain direction is less important with this cutterhead, but it is still a good idea to cut with the grain instead of against it.
Overall this was a great experience and if I ever need another cutterhead for another machine FindBuy Tool will be the first place I look.

I started planing two cords of rough cut red oak with my new DEWALT 735. I wasn't long (multiple passes of 200 linear feet, 6 to 10" wide) before the blades dulled and the reset switch wouldn't stay on. I replaced the reset switch and installed a helical cutterhead. I have now run multiple 4 hour sessions with hundreds of linear feet with no interruptions and a very smooth result. Well worth the cost and time to change over. If you are working with hardwoods, it is a must.

Well packaged and an all round good quality tool, from beginner to more advanced turners, easy to use and set up. Carbide tips are excellent and present a very sharp cutting edge. Overall the tool is well presented, light weight and works well with smaller turning projects.

The inserts came in a timely fashion. Installed them with existing screws at 40 Inch pounds per manufacturer recommendation. I’ve ran some cherry, walnut, and birdseye maple through my planer. All had a smooth, finish no tear out.

Less than half the price than any competitor and seems to be the same quality of Bryd brand I have on another machine. Blades are easy to install and very sharp. Shipped from over sees but arrived in less than a week.

1997 Jet 6 inch jointer. The Helical Cutterhead for Jet 6" Woodworking Jointer JJ-6 JJ-60S JJ-6CS fits perfect without any modifications. Turned out to be an excellent upgrade.

My helical cutterhead was easy to install, the only issue was removing the old three blade head. I am milling stair treads for my daughter and son in law for their new home. This head works great, the finished cut requires very little sanding. I am very pleased.

I cannot recommend this item enough. For the price and performance I am 100% I made the right choice both in buying from this company and the 2 row version. The packaging is top notch, and using the YouTube video it is very straightforward. Does take several hours to install. Make sure you have snap ring pliers…. I had to go buy some. Product works amazing and much better finish than the OEM blades. Also…. Just cleaning and oiling all the planer parts during the install is an added benefit and overall my machine works better than new. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Awesome product.
